Flood – Inundation

PGC prepares mapping of floods that are a result of Dam Failures. Officially they are known as Theoretical Dam Failures, and the flood that we predict would occur is modeled based on input parameters. The resulting output that indicates important flood information such as depth, volume, velocity, time of arrival and time of peak, are then transferred onto a meaningful basemap and annotated with pertinent information on a set of Inundation Maps. These maps are an effort to relay critical information to emergency responders in the event that there was an actual dam failure of a certain dam.
